Heart & Soul

Washington Parks & People is happy to announce the expansion of its health in parks program, Heart & Soul, based at its Riverside Center and Marvin Gaye Park, DC's longest city park and trail. The focus of Heart & Soul is to educate people about the benefits of healthy living habits for ourselves and our environment. By nourishing the body with physical activity and involvement in community greening projects we can combat the challenges we face from the common sedentary lifestyle so pervasive in our culture.  There are so many opportunities to get involved with Heart & Soul. Everyone is encouraged to take full advantage of these chances to thrive in nature and cultivate a healthy lifestyle, starting with using the new Marvin Gaye Trail and fitness stations for walking, biking, and fitness training of all kinds.
