Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?'” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. promoted equality with an understanding that once we put our prejudices aside, we as a community are stronger together rather than divided. Dr. King’s ‘s message of selflessness and unity is more relevant now than ever. As we come together on this National Day of Service, we hope to honor his vision by recognizing the importance of giving back to our community.

On Monday, January 16, in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Washington Parks & People will celebrate this national holiday by ‘thinking outside’ with a park clean-up at Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park from 10am-2pm. Come join Parks & People in restoring our local parks while coming together with your neighbors in celebration of this wonderful day!
