Overlooking Meridian Hill/ Malcolm X Park, the Parks Center is a historic 40-room, 18,000-square-foot  Renaissance Revival mansion.  Parks & People operates the Parks Center as a “greenhouse” for restoring DC parks and green spaces. The center serves as an incubator for a dozen community-based nonprofits aligned with our mission, and supports hundreds of other charities.

Parks & People has worked with conservators and tens of thousands of community volunteers to restore and re-open this historic space as an “embassy of the Earth” for park-based community health for all.  The award-winning restoration features both a range of environmental retrofitting and a wide range of adaptations to serve modern needs.

The venue provides the opportunity to host special events and programs for members. Including indoor and outdoor options for guests.
